Vision

Recently I read the advisory by the Surgeon General, Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation (2023) and found some interesting statistics:

  • "Approximately half of U.S. adults report experiencing loneliness with some of the highest rates among young adults." (page 9)
  • "[..] only 3 in 10 Americans report knowing all or most of their neighbors" (page 41)
  • "Lacking social connection can increase the risk for premature death as much as smoking up to 15 cigarettes a day." (page 8)

I think there is a larger issue bubbling up in our society related to general lack of social capital. The Surgeon General's advisory starts to allude around this point of building social capital to eliminate loneliness and isolation:

  • "There is [..] a virtuous cycle between social connection and volunteerism or service." (page 21)
  • "Frequently confiding in others is associated with up to 15% reduced odds of developing depression." (page 29)
  • "Investing in community connection will be important to repairing divisions and rebuilding trust in each other and our institutions, and is vital to achieving common societal goals." (page 48)

Easydeck exists to enable people to increase their social capital in their communities regardless of age or identity.

Easydeck will be structured through this tiered approach:

  1. Business Consulting — Used to build up the knowledge and monetary capital.
  2. Startup Incubator — To vertically integrate our learnings and earn more monetary capital, building software such as Dinnerify, CTRL+F IRL, and others at scale.
  3. Relational Infrastructure — The foundational tools, systems, and frameworks that enable and support strong, and effective relationships.
